LU-CIX celebrates its first anniversary live on the Internet – join the party!

nacamar will assure a live stream of the first anniversary celebration of the Luxembourg Internet Exchange Point LU-CIX from the Luxembourg RTL studios and present, on that occasion, the new product "medianac.presenter”.

Duesseldorf, Luxembourg, 11 November 2010 - The use of video content on the web is growing very fast. The users want a live experience of major events in the world, such as the rescue of the Chilean miners, broadcasted for days as a live stream on the Internet. No other medium than live images has the power to make the audience feel like it takes part in the event. The broadcast of high-quality video content requires a stable and high-performance network between the delivering streaming server and the private or business terminals. LU-CIX connects international service and network operators, thus offering the best conditions for video transmission. nacamar, together with its partner LU-CIX, will present the use and the benefits of such technologies, on the occasion of the LU-CIX celebration, by streaming it live on the web.

nacamar, with the support of Luxembourg's RTL team, will assure a live stream of the one-year anniversary celebration of LU-CIX on 16/11/2011 from 6.30 pm, by using the medianac.presenter, to be viewed on www.lu-cix.lu/live.html . The video will remain available on the website for on-demand viewing. In addition,  nacamar will present the latest developments on "Video on HbbTV devices" and iPad streaming at the celebration in Luxembourg.

LU-CIX stands for Luxembourg Commercial Internet eXchange. LU-CIX was founded in 2009 based on a cross-industries initiative with the aim of enhancing the development of the Internet in Luxembourg. 

The LU-CIX model of openness and neutrality is based on the philosophy of already existing international centers.

As a "virtual crossing" between the major data highways, LU-CIX shortens the paths between Internet providers and content providers. The networks get redundant and web users can surf faster. This Internet exchange point will permit the various Internet service providers to exchange Internet traffic between their networks, and thus directly connect the content providers and Internet operators located in Luxembourg. Thanks to LU-CIX, companies generating IP traffic can carry their traffic to all Internet users around the world, thus reinforcing Luxembourg’s assets as a prime ICT hub.
